Pluton Biosciences and Avalo have signed an agreement to apply machine learning to Pluton’s exclusive Micromining platform to accelerate development of microbial carbon capture products.
Micromining delivers huge microbial, and associated metagenomic data sets to develop novel microbial carbon capture products. Avalo’s AI-based platform helps identify genes of interest for key traits, streamlining the most time consuming and expensive parts of new product development. In this collaboration, Avalo will be applying its proprietary machine learning algorithms to help the Pluton team more quickly identify critical genes and pathways, and better understand how the consortia members work together.
For Pluton, this collaboration is an important step to increasing the value of Micromining data sets.
“This collaboration will be instrumental in our approach as we develop our machine learning capabilities,” says Founder and Chief Science Officer Dr. Barry Goldman,
“The future of this field is integrating processes like Micromining with next generation machine learning. Our collaboration with Avalo starts that process for us with a young company that is state of the art in the machine learning For the Pluton team, this partnership is vital to future progress. “We are developing a machine learning team. This process will help us better understand how to go forward with that approach,” says Founder and Chief Science Officer Dr. Barry Goldman. “The future of this field is integrating processes like Micromining with next- generation machine learning. The team at Avalo shares Pluton’s enthusiasm for the opportunity to advance discovery in this scientific space.
Avalo CEO Brendan Collins states, “The partnership with Pluton represents an exciting step forward for Avalo, letting us test the complexity of gene interactions in one of the most complex and poorly understood biological systems. It is also thrilling to be working with such a dedicated team at Pluton, trying to solve the biggest challenge of our time."
